Crystal Jade Restaurant at Pavillion KL

30 September 2008

Before checking out of the Westin Hotel, we had brunch here at the Crystal Jade Restaurant at Pavillion, KL. Somehow, this outlet looked more 'alive' compared to the one over at the Gardens. Maybe it is the location or maybe it was the entrance into the restaurant.

Jammin' in Bangkok

29 September 2008

We had some friends staying over at the Westin Hotel and wanted to try out the food at EEST. We didn't have a nice time there mainly because the waiter did not serve us very nicely. Infact I would say he was rather rude. After having 2 plates of sushi and a tray of dim sum, we decided to leave the restaurant and search for another place to have our dinner. That's how we ended up at Bangkok Jam located at Chulan Square.

The waiters and waitresses were very nice and polite. Everytime a dish was served they would let us know what that dish was. After the bad experience at EEST, this was a very refreshing change. The food served is also very good, very close to what we had in Bangkok recently.

Duck King .. not Duckling !

23 September 2008

We've passed by this restaurant a few times before and tonight seeing so many people inside having their dinner, we didn't want to be left out ! Duck King, here we come !

The dishes that they serve here are actually quite tasty only thing is that the portions are slightly small therefore, slightly expensive !

Pho Hoa @ The Curve

24 September 2008

My mother had an operation to remove the cataract from her eye today and since we were at the Curve, and it was lunch time, we gave this restaurant a try. Pho Hoa had been around for quite a while but somehow or other we have not eaten here before. There were only three of us so we couldn't have much variety. Decided to have the usual Vietnamese Papaya & Beef Salad, a gigantic bowl of Pho with everything in it and my mother had the Beef & Tomato Stew with bread !

I'm not too sure if the authentic Vietnamese dishes are more towards the simple, slightly bland side or not. The 'Vietnamese' food that I have tried over at Vietnam Kitchen seemed to be spicier and tastier. Whether or not they have been adjusted to suit our Malaysian taste buds, I don't know ?! Never mind, I'll just have both ! They taste good to me anyway !

The Dragon again !

16 September 2008

Remember Dragon i Restaurant at 1 Utama ? Well, we went there again and here are some of the 'other' dishes we had. I especially liked the Fried Eels (that would be the fourth picture you see) !!
