A long overdue baby blanket for my little niece.  Was supposed to have it ready by the time she was born but .....

And this I made for my mom-in-law !

It took me some time, but I managed to get it done in time for my friend who was due to have her baby somewhere in the beginning of November. (Baby came about a week earlier.)


The second baby blanket was supposed to be for my other friend whose baby was due in the middle of December. Somehow, I managed to get one done for the first baby but the second baby decided to join in the fun and came earlier too!


Baby N was born on 29 October 2008 and Baby '?' (we don't know his name yet) on 31 October 2008 !! You must imagine what a rush I was into ... trying to get the second blankie ready for the new baby !! Have visited Baby N and he's such a sweet baby. This noisy Aunty forgot that he was around and was playing 'loudly' with his elder sister but, he slept soundly through ! Heh heh ! Can't wait to visit Baby '?' As he came earlier he has to be in the Baby ICU. I hope he gets to go home soon.

I hope these blankies keep the baby safe and warm on any cold, rainy nights ... and ... I hope they won't grow up and one day say "I wonder who gave me that ugly crochet blankie?"

These are my first 2 crochet blankies and I'm pretty proud of them ! My first blankie was knitted and as you all know, I'm very very slow at knitting. Since there were 2 babies due, I decided to go ahead with crocheting them instead.

Finally finished crocheting this dress with a matching bandana for my friends little girl. My first time making a dress and I hope that she'll like it. Next up, my mom's shawl that was put on hold for a little while !

At long last, I can finally join the parts together and finish off the jacket that I really owe my sister! After re-doing this many, many times, the lady at the shop (who's teaching me how to crochet as well) gave me the ok and I can now proceed to join the various pieces together. Just a little while more my dear sister and you shall have your creamy white crochet jacket !!

A Stole for A Friend

Finally it is done! I have managed to rush this Stole in time for a friend who will be leaving for Shanghai to work there. Didn't use really thick yarn so that it is lighter and easier for her to carry around. Made it in black so that it would be easier to match whatever attire she'd be wearing !

I just hope that she'll like it !

My First Knitted Shawl !

Didn't take photos of the stuff that I had knitted or crocheted the last time so when my mother asked me to re-do this shawl I took the opportunity to take a photo of it before undoing it ! This was the first item I ever knitted when I decided to take up knitting. My mother said that it was too heavy for her to use... now that I am holding on to it ... how very true ! Hahaha! Anyway, if you look at the photo you can see that they were'nt very good stitches ! Well, since I'm more into crocheting now, I've decided to crochet a shawl for her and instead of using 3 yarns at one go, I'll split them up. That way I can even make 3 different shawls ! Or maybe, a shawl, a hat and a small bag ?

Notice that the sides are not very even ? Hahaha!

KNITTING & CROCHETING

I have just been reading some posts in a website on crochet and now I am thinking of adding that into this blog too ! I took up knitting about 2 years ago and then crochet after that. Found that knitting takes up too much time and maybe I am not that patient a person after all ! Crochet on the other hand is quicker. Also, if there are any errors in stitches, it can be undone & redone quickly ! Am posting some pictures of stuff I have knitted or crocheted since learning the craft !

This is a baby blanket that is knitted using 100% cotton yarn by Coats. Made this specially for my sister in law who was having a baby then. We didn't know if it would be a boy or a girl which is why I chose this light, pastel green colour. Using 100% cotton makes it softer on the baby's skin too.

This is also made from 100% cotton yarn. Gave this to my niece for her birthday last year !



After that I made many little baby dresses/blouses for my nieces and also my friends' daughters ! Here are some pictures !




Heh heh! I know there's still lots to do to improve on the stitches.... Oh well, in the meantime these are some of the stuff I've done. Will keep posting more once I've completed the rest !
